Planning permission has been granted for 200 new council homes to be delivered by a partnership between Battersea Power Station and Wandsworth Council.
The new homes, which are part of the council’s Homes for Wandsworth programme, will be built on a currently undeveloped brownfield plot within Phase 5 of the Battersea Power Station masterplan, to the east of the Grade II* listed Power Station.
Available for local people including families at social rent levels, the homes will be operated by Wandsworth Council and will enter construction in 2027 with anticipated completion in 2029.
The homes form part of the future phases at Battersea Power Station, which have the potential to deliver up to 3.2 million sq ft of residential, commercial, cultural and leisure space across the remaining 16-acres of undeveloped brownfield land.
The project will be financed within the council’s existing Housing Revenue Account and supported by GLA grant funding.

Battersea Power Station is a new neighbourhood centred around the restored Grade II* listed landmark. It is connected to Central London by a new Zone 1 London Underground station.
With over 40 million visitors since opening to the public in October 2022, Battersea Power Station plays a key role in supporting the economy, jobs and livelihoods of residents across the London Borough of Wandsworth.
